The Garage Origin

KeySwapGarage was built to solve a problem every enthusiast eventually faces—selling a vehicle just to buy another one isn’t always the best path forward. Trading should be a viable, efficient alternative, but today it’s fragmented, inconsistent, and difficult to navigate.

The platform is being developed as a structured network where classic and specialty vehicle owners can connect directly, evaluate trade opportunities, and move forward with confidence. Rather than launching as an overbuilt marketplace, KeySwapGarage is rolling out in phases—starting with a streamlined model focused on real listings, real interest, and real connections.

As demand grows, the platform will expand to include enhanced matching, verification tools, and transaction support designed to reduce friction and improve outcomes for both sides of a trade.

The long-term vision is straightforward: create a trusted environment where vehicle trades are as viable and efficient as traditional sales.

Rick McGee
Founder & Specialist

KeySwapGarage was founded by Rick McGee, a lifelong automotive enthusiast with a hands-on background in restoring and owning classic vehicles across multiple eras and platforms. Over the years, Rick has personally worked on and owned a range of projects including the featured 1957 Thunderbird, 1974 Ford Bronco, 1965 Thunderbird Convertible, 1992 Corvette Convertible, and a 1963 MGB, among others. This experience brings a practical understanding of vehicle condition, valuation challenges, and what enthusiasts actually look for when considering a trade.

Professionally, Rick is the owner of Green Flag Safety, a company focused on contractor prequalification and compliance management within high-risk industries. His work centers on evaluating risk, building structured systems, and helping organizations navigate complex qualification requirements across platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, and Veriforce.

That combination of hands-on automotive experience and professional expertise in systems, risk mitigation, and process development drives the approach behind KeySwapGarage—building a platform that is not only enthusiast-focused, but also structured, practical, and scalable.
